Success Stories
Fred, Baby Boutique
It was late on the last day of our holiday toy room when a father of four came in to shop for his children. His wife was back at the shelter getting the children settled, while he was tasked with picking up the emergency clothing they desperately needed.
Things had gotten much worse then either of them had expected. He had lost his job months ago, and even though he was out looking every day, he was not able to find a job to pay the rent. They were evicted and lost everything.
With the help of our volunteers at the Baby Boutique he chose as much warm clothing as he could find for the children. As he was checking out at the front counter he learned that he could also choose new toys for the kids. This was so much more then ever expected!
He found a bicycle for his 7-year-old boy, a doll and stroller for his 4-year-old girl, a Leapster Baby Tad and puzzle for his 2-year-old daughter, and a baby gym for their newborn son.
With 3 large bags full of clothing and toys, a new bicycle in-hand, and a smile on his face with tears in his eyes, he expressed his gratitude for making this holiday more then he could have ever hoped it would be.
Thank you to each of you: our donors, our volunteers and our clients who make moments like these possible.
